2025 game plan

The 2024 game plan was largely successful, and we had a strong year of roleplaying games. I hope to replicate that with a very different 2025.

The calendar will be built around running Masks of Nyarlathotep. I expected to be juggling that with Candlekeep, but having burned out on D&D for the time being, it’s just Call of Cthulhu now. That leaves me with the capacity to run other games, which is a relief, as I was starting to think that it’s going to be just CoC and D&D for all of 2025.

There are some themes.

Mörk Borg cover. Violent yellow with black and red ink depicting the logo in broad strokes and a rotting skeleton trooper with a sword and a shield.
If I had to pick a favorite cover out of all my RPG books, this’d be it.

Year of Borg

I have a collection of Mörk Borg affiliated products, and want to run them all.

  • Cy_Borg (cyberpunk in the gutter)
  • Corp Borg (uh… office work)
  • Blood Borg (partying vampires)
  • Mek Borg (giant robots and rot). Would be interesting to combine this with running the other giant robot games waiting for their turn: Heavy Gear and Lancer, but we’ll see how it feels.

I’m thinking of doing these back to back to be able to compare and contrast. Short, tight campaigns where I intend to go as hard as possible.

24’s greatest hits return

I want to run another DIE game, as well as more Monsterhearts. In both cases I am worried we won’t be able to hit the highs of these games’ 2024 performance. That is an interesting challenge I’m keen to try. DIE would be a scenario from the second scenario book, unsure which one, and Monsterhearts would continue our 2024 game with a new season.

Missed hits in 24 try again

We did miss some planned games in 24 that I want to take another swing at. I had done most of the planning on Heavy Gear, and we couldn’t schedule the second run of Fiery Angels, the second Blade Runner cinematic adventure. I hope to do both in 25.

Opportunistic treats

Lancer is still on the list. I have a feeling it’d be too big to fit in this plan, but I can’t stop thinking about it, especially since I got the massive printed book, taunting me.

We’re giving Break!! a try over the holidays. If it’s promising, I’ll run some more of it.
